North East Lincolnshire Parent Participation Forum
The North East Lincolnshire Parent Participation Forum provides opportunities locally for parents of disabled children to have their voices heard and help influence local decisions that may affect their families. Parent Carers can help pinpoint problems they frequently experience which provides professionals with useful knowledge to help them improve how services are delivered.
The Forum enables parents to find out more about the services, facilities and activities on offer to families of children with additional needs and to chat with other parent carers about issues affecting them and their family.
With successful parent participation, parents and professionals work together to recognise each other's expert knowledge. This enables informed decisions to be made which make the best use of time and money to support all families of children with disabilities and additional needs in North East Lincolnshire.
Please visit the Forum's website (www.nelppf.co.uk) or Facebook page (www.facebook.com/NorthEastLincsParentParticipationForum) for more information about its activities and other matters of interest to parent carers.
The Forum can also be contacted on 07583 474892 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
New Group for Parent Carers
This group is supported by, but independent of, the North East Lincolnshire Parent Participation Forum.
A toolkit is available from Cerebra which aims to support disabled people and Carers, as well as their families and advisers, who are encountering difficulties with the statutory agencies in relation to the provision of health, social care and education support services. This toolkit aims to unpick these problems and to develop effective strategies for resolving them.
