Understanding Dementia Course 2016

Dementia Information Group

People who have undertaken the Understanding Dementia course are invited to attend the Dementia Information Group. The group meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 1 pm at Scunthorpe Community Wellbeing Hub, Alvingham Road, Scunthorpe.

The Carers' Support Centre would like to thank the Rotary Club of Scunthorpe for a donation of £1,000 in August 2014 to support Carers of people with a dementia-related illness. The money is being used to support the Dementia Information Group.

Dementia Information Group 2016

Dementia Action Alliance

The Carers' Support Centre is a member of North Lincolnshire Dementia Action Alliance which aims to raise awareness of dementia at a local level in order to reduce the stigma of dementia and encourage people in the local community who have dementia or are worried about their memory to seek and be given patience, kindness, understanding and support. Dementia Friends

Many of our staff, trustees and volunteers have undergone training to become a Dementia Friend. A Dementia Friend learns a little bit more about what it is like to live with dementia and then turns that understanding into action - from helping someone to find the right bus to spreading the word about dementia on social media.
