The Carers’ Support Service are working hard to make sure information is available to Carers in the community.
Our Connecting Carers Project aims to identify more hidden Carers
(those who do not recognise themselves as Carers and so don’t access support, or know support is available)
We have some wonderful volunteers who are your information champions.
The are available;
Immingham Leisure Centre
10am to 12noon, every 4th Tuesday from 27th March
9:30 to 11:30, every 4th Tuesday starting from 27th March
Fieldhouse Medical Centre
9am to 11am, every 4th Tuesday starting from 27th March
We will also soon be in Grimsby Library and Open Door.
Def Blind Awareness week 24th to 30th June
The theme this year is ‘Get outdoors’
FOR PUBLIC AND PROFESSIONALS
On 27th June 2019 from 2pm to 4pm at the Val Waterhouse Centre, Kent Street, Grimsby there will be a ‘drop in’ with numerous activities of daily living with demonstrations of equipment that may support those who are dually sensory impaired.
No need to book – Just Drop – In
Also on the 27th June 2019 focus are having a professional’s event where staff will be paired up and do a 20-30 minute walk at lunch time, using the Deafblind simulation equipment i.e. ear defenders and simulation glasses – to understand what living with dual sensory impairment feels like
