Hours of work:          26 hours per week including evening and weekend work on a rota basis

Accountability:          Post accountable to the Service Delivery Manager.

Salary Pro Rata:        £20,344 pro rata per annum  

Actual Salary:            £14,250

Location:                    The Carers’ Support Service. 1 Town Hall Square, Grimsby. Including work in communities and occasional home visits.

Join our team and be at the forefront of delivering support to North East Lincolnshire’s unpaid Carers.

The Carers’ Support Service delivers free support to Carers in North East Lincolnshire, much of which is delivered by volunteers and co-ordinated, developed and designed by the volunteer co-ordinator. Our volunteer led services are vital to ensuring Carers receive the support they need to continue caring safely and to keep themselves well.

The volunteer coordinator will manage and recruit volunteers and develop volunteer roles in line with organisational change and the needs of Carers. You will have freedom to take advantage of opportunities that enable the Carers’ Support Service to diversify the support we offer.

The post holder will deliver a robust programme which includes information events, recruitment, training, supervisions, volunteer meetings, an annual volunteer awards and service evaluations.

The Carers’ Support Service provides exceptional support that meets the needs of a large number of Carers. We pride ourselves on the quality of our support and the needs based, person centred approach that we take. The post holder will have experience of working in this way and of delivering a quality service, either directly or as part of a team.

To be successful in this role, the post holder will need experience of working with members of the public and successfully supervising or managing a team or group of people. They will have an understanding of volunteers’ motivations and the benefits they bring to the Carers’ Support Service. They will be experienced in working as part of a team and able to work on their own initiative. An ability to be organised and plan ahead are key skills needed for this role.
